Description: Known as the "Champagne of honey", Fireweed Honey is a rare and notoriously difficult honey to harvest.

Fireweed is a beautiful native purple plant that only appears on the land for a short time after a wildfire or heavy logging. Once a beekeeper finds a large enough patch of young fireweed they then have to transport their beehive there and hope bears don't find it before the honey is ready. The fireweed for this honey was harvested from Nancy Greene mountain in Castlegar.

Fireweed Honey has a unique flavour - mild and light with a buttery finish. This honey isn't available every season and supplies are limited so be sure to try some out while you can!

Details: Sold in 500 ml jar.
