About Our Heritage Dinner Rolls
Our Heritage Dinner Rolls are made with our stoneground, organic whole wheat flour that we mill fresh using our Austrian-made stoneground miller. We use organic wheat berries that are grown less that two hours away in Creston Valley by Treasure Life Flour Mills.
For these dinner rolls we used a heritage wheat variety known as Red Fife, which has a nutty and satisfying flavour. We hand-shape each dinner roll, bake them until they form a wonderful brown crust and then freeze them.
Our Heritage Dinner Rolls make a great pairing with almost any meal. Try dipping them in soups, stews, pasta sauce and gravy, make pulled pork sliders, or simply slather on some butter or jam.
Each package of Heritage Dinner Rolls contains 9 frozen rolls
Ingredients: Stoneground, organic Red Fife wheat flour (grown by Treasure Life Flour Mills, Creston, milled by Confluence Farms), whole wheat sourdough starter (from Confluence Farms) chicken eggs (from Confluence Farms), cream (from Kootenay Meadows), butter (from Foothills Creamery, West Kelowna), organic cane sugar, yeast, salt.
Remove the rolls from the freezer about 15 minutes before preheating the oven to 350 f. Position the oven rack in the middle of the oven.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. While you are heating the rolls, melt 1-2 tbsp of salted butter in a saucepan.
After removing the rolls from the oven, immediately brush with the melted butter and serve.
The rolls are best eaten fresh and warm, so aim to re-heat only what you will eat and keep the rest in the freezer.
