Black Futsu Squash

Description: Black Futsu squash is a small heirloom variety from Japan, cherished for both its striking appearance and rich flavor. Its skin starts dark green to nearly black, then matures into a warm chestnut or deep orange-brown with a warty, deeply ribbed texture. Inside, the flesh is bright orange—dense, sweet, and carrying subtle nutty, earthy notes.

This versatile squash can be roasted, steamed, or added to soups, and its skin becomes tender and edible once cooked.
