In stock!

Plant these Buffy G dahlia tubers in spring and you'll have armloads of blooms from midsummer until frost. Each order is a full clump of tubers, dug and stored whole, so you get more to work with than a single tuber. Normally each tuber costs between $15-30, so these clumps are a steal!

Dahlias are one of the most rewarding flowers you can grow. The more you cut, the more they bloom. Plant the clump whole for a big, fast-growing plant, or divide it into several plants for a cutting garden, a showy border, or buckets of flowers for the table.

Details: Each clump has approx 10 tubers.

You must be prepared to collect your tubers promptly after delivery and to store them properly the same day. Read storage instructions below.

How to Store Dahlia Tubers

Your dahlia tubers will arrive freshly dug, washed, dried, and ready for winter storage.

 When you get them:

Check the tubers over. They should feel dry on the surface. If you notice any remaining moisture, leave them somewhere cool and dry with good airflow until surface-dry before storing.

 For winter storage:

Keep your tubers somewhere cool, dark, and frost-free, ideally around 4–7°C (40–45°F).

Pack them in a box or tote with slightly damp—not wet—vermiculite, peat moss, or sawdust. This helps prevent the tubers from drying out and shrivelling over the winter.

During the winter:

Check them about once a month. Remove anything that becomes soft or rotten. If the tubers are starting to shrivel significantly, the storage conditions are too dry. If you notice condensation or excess moisture, give them more airflow.

The most important things are to keep them cool, prevent them from freezing, and prevent them from completely drying out.

In spring, plant them after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.

Enjoy your dahlias next summer!
