Team Work Makes The Dream Work!

We picked up our tomato and cucumber starts from Bee Greens Nursery in Winlaw and they look amazing!

We don't have a proper set up on our farm to grow a lot of starts, so instead of trying to cram everything under limited lights we decided to hire a professional.

Not only was it a HUGE stress relief, but we now have super healthy starts that will produce way better than what we could have grown.

We always really enjoy collaborating with all of the hard working farmers in the region. We feel like the more we all work together the stronger we become as a community.

It's Mother's Day and all you want is a special, relaxing breakfast with your family. You want to treat yourself but you don't want the burden of having to bake and clean up, and going to a restaurant would be too much of a hassle.

Why not try our Bake-At Home Cinnamon or Raspberry Sweet Buns? In just minutes you can have a fresh from the oven, warm, homestyle cinnamon and raspberry bun. Simply pop it in the oven and let the smell of sweet yeast get the whole family excited 😄

Once it's ready, pull it out of the oven. Then slather on the vanilla cream cheese frosting and watch as it slowly melts into the cracks and crevasses. Cut yourself a nice thick slice and take a bite. 🤤

The texture is soft, warm and yeasty. The sweet swirls combined with the tangy vanilla cream cheese frosting produce an unforgettable flavour.

About Our Bake-At-Home Cinnamon Buns

For these cinnamon buns we started with a 100% whole wheat pastry flavour. The whole wheat gives it an added depth of flavour while also providing vitamins and minerals that are completely void in white flour. We then added the filling made from butter, brown sugar, a hint of organic nutmeg and our secret ingredient - organic true cinnamon.

True cinnamon is made from the tender inner bark of the cinnamon tree. It has a more subtle and elegant cinnamon flavour compared to the more commonly used cassia cinnamon, which can sometimes have a harsh and spicy cinnamon flavour.

To top it all off we have included a side of tangy vanilla cream cheese frosting. The whole wheat flour combined with the tangy frosting and sweet cinnamon swirls gives these cinnamon buns a great balance and an unforgettable flavour.

About Our Bake-At-Home Raspberry Sweet Buns

For our Raspberry Sweet Buns we started with a 100% whole wheat pastry flavour. The whole wheat gives it an extra depth of flavour while also providing vitamins and minerals that are completely void in white flour. We then added the filling which we made with a combination of homemade raspberry and strawberry rhubarb jam that we made from fruit from the farm last season. The tart raspberry jam blended with the sweet strawberry and rhubarb adds extra depth and complexity.

To top it all off we have included a side of tangy vanilla cream cheese frosting. The whole wheat flour combined with the tangy frosting and sweet fruit swirls gives these raspberry sweet buns an unforgettable flavour.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

Run 4 Refugees

One of our customers and community members is doing the incredible work of running a charity event this Saturday to raise funds for the refugees in Ukraine. It is truly baffling that we still live in a time where war is still a regular occurrence.

One bright side is that because we are all so connected through technology, we have the ability to easy send support to our brothers and sisters who’s lives have been displaced.

Come join the Run 4 Refugees event at Millennium Park in Castlegar on Saturday, May 7th at 10 am. It is a combination of a 5km run/walk and a Mini International Festival with fun activities and many ways to donate!

Funds raised will go to the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Campaign. Register to run or create a team and have friends and family donate in support of you. If running's not your thing, come check out the small scale International Festival where there will be displays and activities to enjoy.
