
Bowl Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or ground pork
1 cup uncooked quinoa
1 bunch Gai Lan or Broccolini
Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Sauce Ingredients
1/3 cup (79 ml) soy sauce
1/4 cup (55 grams) brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp ginger powder or fresh ginger, miced finely
1/2 tsp garlic powder or fresh garlic, minced finely
1/4 tsp chile flakes
Serves 3-4 people
Instructions
Cook the quinoa.
Heat a skillet. While waiting for it to preheat, make the sauce by combining all of the ingredients in a bowl and whisking well.
Preheat the BBQ.
Once the pan is hot, add the ground meat followed by the sauce. Cook until the meat is done, stirring often to break it up.
While the meat is cooking, toss the Gai lan in olive oil so that it is lightly coated.
Cook the Gai Lan in the BBQ with the lid down for 3 minutes on one side, about 2 minutes on the other or until just tender when pierced with a fork.
Assemble the bowls and serve immediately once everything is cooked.
Top with toasted sesame seeds and serve.
